About Me:

My name is Leanne Mansfield and I have been the new Group Fitness Manager at Healthy Life for a short while.

Before my children were born I had two careers – Science teacher and Group Fitness Instructor/Dance Aerobics Instructor. During the past 20 years as a Group Fitness Instructor I was the owner of a group fitness centre, and managed the group fitness teams for several clubs and leisure centres in Perth.

 My passion in group fitness is the instructing and coaching of pre choreographed programmes and freestyle classes in many clubs including Healthy Life. I am a fully qualified and insured Group Fitness Instructor registered with Fitness Australia and the class styles I teach include the Les Mills pre choreographed programmes such as Body Pump, Body Step, Body Balance, Body Combat, Body Jam and Body Vive. I am often asked which programme is my favourite and it is not easy to answer. Each programme has its own fitness merits and I enjoy the variety of workouts. The freestyle classes that I instruct include Zumba, Step, high and low impact aerobics, abs butts and thighs, basic circuits and children/teenager classes. Group fitness can feel like a party often due to the fun factor and the social environment created. As a result I am invited to lots of parties, dinners and lunches with members!!

 At Healthy Life Hillarys I instruct the Tuesday morning Body Pump class and Tuesday night Body Combat class. I look forward to catching up with the members each week and encourage them to reach higher levels with their fitness, power and strength.

 You can never stop learning and I continue to attend quarterly workshops, as well as master classes and fitness conferences, to keep ahead with the evolving nature of the Fitness Industry. My areas of interest include core strength, Pilates, Yoga, exercise science and nutrition. I hope that the members benefit from my continued fitness education.

My Career in the fitness industry started back in South Africa  in the 80’s when          I was 17 years old. I started out teaching aerobics, step and circuit classes part-   time for ten years, having qualified through Trimgym S.A. I have always been   passionate about health and fitness and after immigrating 13 years ago I re-registered and qualified through AIF.  I am currently teaching Body Pump, Rpm and Cycle classes.  I have also taught Boxing/Circuit classes in the past.

The fitness industry is a continuously growing industry and I am always open to learning and improving my skills and knowledge.  It is rewarding to motivate others and I thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere of group training and am also dedicated to my own training.
Sandy Walkersandywalker

Sandy has been teaching yoga for ten years and has a Diploma of Yoga Teacher Training from the International Yoga Teachers' Association.  She teaches various classes every week in a number of fitness and yoga centres as well as private and government organisations.  She co-developed and is a trainer and assessor on WA's only government accredited Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teacher Training course.  Sandy teaches Hatha Yoga and is  particularly influenced by Iyengar and vinyasa styles of yoga and also has a keen interest in the history and philosophy of this ancient discipline.  Outstide of yoga Sandy's interests include touch rugby which she has played for more than twenty years, travelling, reading and enjoying the company of her husband when their busy timetables allow.

I have been in the health and fitness industry for over 20 years and even after all this time my passion, motivation and energy has still remained high.  I love my job and I find it most rewarding.  My number one priority is to help our members reach their goals.  I encourage them to give me their best and I try to lead by example.

I have competed in INBA Body Building Competition and represented Australia at the Olympia.  I was a Fitness Professional Award winner in 2005, 2007, 2009 and currently hold the title for Western Australia in 2010. 

Come along to one of my classes and I promise you lots of fun and a little hard work.

My name is Zowie Harding and I started my career in fitness as a freestyle  dancer in the UK and IBIZA - I danced and Choreographed routines for over 15years until falling pregnant with our 1st child, during which time I studied fitness and gained a Diploma in Fitness and Nutrition in 2000 - just after giving birth to our 2nd child - What an achievement.

I started personal training at home then soon after Marriage/honeymoon gave pregnancy Number 3 - oh golly gee lucky me.  Training continued in England until moving to Australia where Number 4 arrived.  We sadly lost our 5th child prematurely, which is the reason my husband actually joined me at a gym to bring me back to life and there I found a new passion for fitness - I was encouraged by the awesome instructors to 'GO for it' and I DID!!!.  Lacking in confidence - YES I DID lack confidence after the massive kilos gained over 9years and 5 pregnancies.

My first discipline at 41yrs (the oldest in the class) was Body Combat, which is STILL my favourite, then closely followed by Body Pump, which I love - Rpm was my next target - to improve my knowledge of cardio without too much impact adding freestyle Excel 1 and 2 to give me opportunity to vary my teaching.  I am certified in Frothy foams too as I enjoy the Aqua classes and I update my Senior first aid and CPR regularly which is also a vital asset with so many children.

I feel fitter, healthier and happier NOW at 45yrs than I did in my 20's (when smoking and drinking were the “IN” thing?) Oh how I DO NOT miss those days. It's Never Too Late to start getting fit

Heath & Fitness is something I am extremely passionate and driven in. I pay attention to detail and this helps in achieving results for my clients, and for me personally. I live and breathe within this industry, having being part of gyms for the last 10 years, along with being a Health & Physical Education teacher at a Private School. This demonstrates my commitment and ability to work with a diverse range of people. I believe my vibrant communication skills, diligence and friendly nature, will assist and motivate my clients to achieve their results.

I was born and grew up in South Africa.  I started ballet when I was 5 and kept going for 10 years.  While in year 11 I started with Modern Dancing and the switched over to freestyle aerobic which I loved.   While studying for my BA Honours at University in 1993, I did a freestyle aerobic course through Technikon Pretoria (like TAFE) and started instructing freelance.  While in the police college I instructed for them as well. I have taught freestyle aerobics classes, freestyle step and had my own aqua aerobics business for 2 years while living in a small town.

When we moved to Pretoria I instructed at Virgin Active for 4 years before relocating to Perth in 2005.  During my years in instructing I have attended many conferences and refresher courses to stay updated with current styles and exercise science.

I joined Kicks Health club (now Healthy Life Fitness) as a member when we moved over from South Africa in 2005.

I did my BodyJam training in 2008 and BodyPump training in 2010 and am certified in both programs.

I'd like to make a difference in peoples lives through exercise.

My other hobbies are painting, photography and art.

Hi, my name is Bronwyn and I have been a Group Fitness Instructor since 2009.       I am currently trained in Body Pump and Body Jam.

I joined a gym in 2005 to help me overcome some serious weight issues and I can proudly announce that this has helped me to lose 40kgs since that time. While attending group fitness classes I was encouraged by an Instructor to become a Group Fitness Instructor.  It has helped me regain some self confidence.

I thoroughly enjoy and love to share my passion for exercise and movement with others.  I only hope that through my love of fitness and exercise, I can inspire others on similar weight loss journeys and motivate them along the way.

I have been working in the fitness industry for 29yrs now, and other than my daughter and my husband, it is the love of my life.

I started teaching the original Les Mills Programs before they became the programs they are today.

I am registered with Fitness Australia. I have my RPL in Certificate 111 & 1V in fitness, and my Certifications in Body Balance and Body Step. I teach a wide range of program including Body Combat, Step, Balance, Pilates, Spin to name but a few. I am also a qualified PT trainer.

I love the industry, the people I work with, and helping people achieve their goals what ever they may be.
