January 2014 Newsletter

Dear Members,

Happy 2014 to you all, belated on this particular web-forum for which I apologise. Hope you received the facebook, reception desk & personal messages throughout the festive season & of course those of the 110 odd of you who joined us in celebrating the festive season at the Club Xmas party at the Northshore Tavern would have received our best wishes there too.

2013 was another good year for you all at the club & a great success for the teams here that take such pride in directing your health, fitness & wellbeing programs & schedules. We were very fortunate to have the beautifying Jocelyn Mason join our team with her Sinful Beauty clinic which is still open to you; offering all the usual services that you would expect. Do remember to call her & book for your personal grooming in 2014.

We also had a number of new stand-alone PT’s & GFI’s come on board to enhance Leanne’s & the club’s active areas teams & they are all making great headway, not least the new specialist Strength & Conditioning team known as Atlas Performance.

This very high-end sports specific conditioning outfit is headed up by a Canadian MSC Sports Science graduate focusing on an array of training delivery which includes Strength & Conditioning Coaching as well as the very beneficial nutritional supplements under the Charles Poliqin banner. The name of the Charles Poliquin qualified head coach is Mr Sean Connolly & he now has his own office just near the cardio theatre zone. Pop in & visit him or see Sean’s lead Personal Trainer Mr Brett Moore.

Brody Johnson, Karli Plowright & Taylor Walsh also joined the PT team & will each play their part in exciting you as you gain more knowledge in & around the active areas. These PT’s will also enhance your results & personal development within your overall training regimes. They are supported by the now qualified Jill Waller (just successfully completed her Cert 3 & Cert 4 in Personal Training) along with Vanessa Green who an experienced GFI & current Cert 3 Gym Instructor is also about to complete the all-important Cert 4 to yet further strengthen the PT team here in your club.

Last but not least February 2014 will see our newest & youngest recruit to our growing personal training team one Mr Andrew Sims who though just 17 / 18 is mature beyond his years & has a very credible track record in his own sporting achievement to date. Andrew has completed his Cert 3 & Cert 4 prior to completing some bridging exams which will see him read exercise physiology / sports science at university later this year while Personal Training here.

In the meantime he will combine his successfully acquired Gym Instructor & Personal Training qualifications with his own sporting & training achievements along with the skills he has learned while shadowing some of our more mature PT’s. Andrew will really appeal to that growing 15 – 20 year old membership base that we have & can understand their wants, needs, desires & drive from a similar generation mind-set & so we believe he will lead this ever increasing membership age range into safer more successful & sustainable training regimes.

The biggest piece of exciting news we have is to at last be able to advise that we have managed to team up with a fantastic, experienced, talented & professionally expanding group of Physiotherapists known as Flinders Avenue Physiotherapists Group headed up by Caroline Shaw & Daniel Rispoli.

These two leading & dynamic Physiotherapists have the total skill-set to reignite our once thriving sports medical centre & to do so with smiles, goodwill & a wealth of sports medical, rehabilitation, body alignment, dry-needling & the latest post-graduate healing prowess.

It has taken the club 3 months to find the right sports medical team with the all-important medical team & specialists to back them up & ensure a full-service to our members & guests. It has been some challenge to take on the wonderful work Chiropractor Dr Andrew Riddle did for the club over 5 odd years & then Andrew kindly introduced Chiropractor Linda Schiller as an interim measure while she found her feet & the ideal place to practice in Perth which turned out to be further north than HLFCH.

So, having met some 12 plus interested parties from Human Movement Specialists, Remedial Massage Therapists, Reflexologists, Reiki Therapists to the more conventional Osteopaths Chiropractors & a few Physiotherapists we believe that Daniel Rispoli & Caroline Shaw’s model will suit the club & our members the best.

More on the amazing array of Physiotherapy clinical techniques that will soon be available here in the club in next month’s newsletter. Their healing, sports medical services will be unveiled from February 3rd 2014 onward.

Exciting times as ever, make sure you remain a part of the lifestyle that is Healthy Life Fitness Centre.

Happy training throughout 2014,
