October 2018 Newsletter

October still sees us seemingly under a slight chill in the air with a few bright days but for the most part the tail end of a chilly winter & not the glorious spring season we are used to. That means more training indoors is even easier to commit to as the outdoor exercise is still towards Baltic!

Saturday October 13th sees a Mega Launch of the Les Mills new releases, the big RAVE party will be from 0730am to 1030am on Saturday & you are all welcome to bring any non-members for FREE to join in the Les Mills stream of classes.

Anyone wanting a guest to join in the KONGA or Yoga also benefits from a 50% discount to participate, so just a $10 entrance fee instead of the usual $20 for casual entry. The GFI team look forward to you all joining in the ‘Mega Launch’.

From Saturday 13th October we are also changing the 0830am back to CX-WORX as a core body workout, seems more popular than the high energy killer of a MetaFit which when slotted between two high-energy Body Pump classes seemed to be less in demand. So, from Saturday 13th October 2018 with the new music releases from Les Mills this slot will remain CX Worx with your GFM Vanessa Green delivering the class.

In the personal training world we are very happy to announce the arrival of a new nutritionist & coach in Stephanie Innes who joins the club team. Stephanie comes across from an F45 HIIT studio but is equally comfortable on a mainstream gym floor. Stephanie is also adept at all nutritional advice & anyone seeking the ultimate dietary plan now has a go-to PT in-house.

On a sadder note we finally have to bid farewell to the Canadian Ice Hockey champion & gum physique of James Elliott who is moving his high-end, high-caliber coaching services to Surge in the CBD, James has been with us 3 years odd now & it has been a great pleasure hosting his cutting-edge coaching skills on our humble workout floors.

James takes his good lady Ashleigh Jones with him as part of his Elliott Performance Team & so Ashleigh who has gone from St. Marks school girl member to adult member to a smiling receptionist onto an EPT personal trainer now flies the coup where it all started for her.

We wish them both every success in their new venture down in the city, yet our welcoming club doors remain open should they ever wish to come back into the fold.

Hopefully come November we will have also welcomed in a new Remedial Massage Therapist from down in South Perth. Isla is looking into the logistics of transferring her successful RMT practice to north of the river or adding a therapy clinic to her portfolio. Keep your eyes peeled for the latest new hands-on treatments linked to everyone’s health fund & so discounts available via the national HICAPS system.

We also have managed to bolster our front of house team with the addition of three new lovely ladies in Amelia Sheehan, Maddy Osmond & Wendy Dickinson whom are all now part of Kara’s smiling reception team here to assist you & welcome you in as well as bid your farewell. In the creche Dawn is back from her long absence & is joined by a creche assistant called Jessica. So, 4 new ladies on team.

In the GX Zone Vanessa Green has managed to recruit a quartet of lovely GFI’s in Larnie (elite cycle zone instructor), Limi (elite cycle zone instructor) Cherrie (advanced Yoga Yogi) & Dorothy (experienced Yoga, BP, ABT, Sh’Bam, Freestyle GFI).

Last but not least, we have Seaneen Copeland’s Generation24Fit team of IFBB competitors including our own Mel Brown & Joe Krutsky on stage this coming Saturday 6th October at the West Australian Mike O’Mara IFBB championships. We also have Vesna Spasevski competing over on the Gold Coast in her Pro-Figure competition, good luck to all the competitors.

Train well,

Daniel
