I have always loved sport and competing in anything from a very young age including representing my school and various sporting clubs from as early as primary school. My first gym membership was a life membership at Fletchers in North Beach when I was about 15 years old; obviously life didn’t mean life, because before long that was shut down. I ended up joining Kicks Health Club (now Healthy Life Fitness Centre) when I was about 20 and haven’t left.

In that time I have competed in Fitness Figure Competition, many Triathlons, Aerobic Competitions back in the day (in those beautiful leotards and shiny tights), Busselton Half Iron Man and took great pride in achieving my black belt (1st Dan) in Zen Do Kai, been married, been divorced and had a child. What a journey!!

I first did my Aerobic Instructor training with ACHPER in 1998, and since have updated my Cert III qualifications recently.

After many years of high impact aerobics, martial arts and running, cycle classes were a blessing. Cycle is such a great cardio class and without the impact on your body. I love that it caters for all fitness levels. I love teaching the cycle classes and pushing people to reach places they didn’t think they could. I like to think I teach a hard but motivating class and yes I do love loud music and being the boss of everyone!

Kick Boxing has to be one of my favourite work outs, I really enjoy getting into the pad work and still try and do that once a week, and now that I am learning to slow down and listen to my body a bit more (as I still think I am 20 most of the time). I am really enjoying yoga it allows me to physically and mentally take a breath and slow down.

I have a real love for the ocean, so get out and have a surf when I can, that is my time, when it is all about me, and maybe a few sharks!!

Although I have a busy life with a family of 5 and managing The Regal Theatre in Subiaco, my physical exercise and overall wellbeing has always been and will continue to be a life priority.
